The start of the ‘Cold War’ was created by the Soviet occupation forces in Germany, who set up a blockade on July 24, 1948 to cut off rail and highway traffic between West Germany and Berlin

Each of these, light – weight, but shiny golden colored buttons feature the Soviet “Hammer & Sickle” coat-of-arms amidst a five – pointed star.
