Military Payment Certificates (also known as MPC), was a currency used to pay U.S. military personnel in certain foreign lands, from 1946 until 1973 – Presented here are selections from all the different series. MPC’s were an outgrowth of the AMC’s or Allied Military Currencies which are also featured in sets and singles from Austria, France, Germany, Italy & Japan (and several other related issues such as from Denmark, East Germany etc). These were created by the US for use by their service personnel after WWII to stabilize local economies of the war torn nations.

Series 461 was used from September 1946 to March 1947 in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Morocco, Netherlands, Philippines, Ryukyus Islands, Scotland, Trieste and the rest of Yugoslavia.
