WWI GERMAN 3 RUBLE PAPER MONEY of 1916 for USE in POLAND (POSEN – POZNAN)
With Germany’s occupation of Poland during World War I, the Darlehnskasse in Posen (Poznan) created a special circulating three rubles banknote dated April 1916. With some prodding from President Woodrow Wilson to spread democracy, the following year, the Government General of Warsaw replaced it with the new Polish Marka and created a new central government.
